“Last year, I had the opportunity to take part in a residency in the Danube Delta which is a wetland with amazing flora and fauna, an antithesis of a tamed landscape. So, I decided to take that experience as a starting point and firstly I created the symbiosis between the characters and some aquatic beings, then the environment slowly revealed itself to me. I tried to reimagine a pre-capitalist era when humans and nature were one because it feels like we are having an alienating life and the uncontrollable wilderness of the swamp is like a refuge away from the sterile cities.”
