INTERIOR ENVY  

With homeware rapidly becoming the new status symbol, investing in our home has never been so important. Ceramic candleholders from Les Ottomans, fluffed Horsebit jacquard cushions designed by Gucci and strategically placed TOM FORD coffee table books are all various ways to simultaneously demonstrate personal preferences and social standing. However, one question always persists when showcasing creative flair- do I have good taste?  

Through the lens of photographer Bob Foster, the LN-CC in-house creative team take inspiration and juxtaposes modern pieces for the home against a gaudy backdrop of honey-toned pine panelling, glossy cubic titles and a retro-inspired palette featuring clashing citrus colours. 

The concept of 'good taste' has been a recurring debate; some argue it is simply a matter of perspective shaped by beliefs. While others lean more towards the philosophical approach, attributing it to the cosmic values of the good, the truth and the beautiful. However, through the presence of social media, good taste is now evolving into a curated extension known as aesthetic culture.  

With aesthetics descendant from art, taste is inherent. The value of aesthetics lies in appreciating beauty rather than seeking intense meaning. Aesthetics and homeware have long been a part of the decorative arts movement, with many artists and designers promoting finding beauty in honest forms, from cutlery to furniture.  

The true goal for creating interior envy is not about procuring taste; it is accomplishing reflection of the person it inhabits. Cultivating spaces that translate personality, reflect the chosen mood, exhibit versatility and are stylishly equipped.
