L8TE PRESENTS: MASSIMO OSTI STUDIO

PAYING HOMAGE TO THE LEGENDARY INNOVATOR MASSIMO OSTI, THE NEW CONTEMPORARY LABEL TAKES INSPIRATION FROM THE VISIONARY BEHIND STONE ISLAND AND C.P. COMPANY.

Methodical, experimental and droves of material variations were the distinguished skill set Massimo Osti employed to carve out a unique design path in a then-traditional textile paradigm. More than a designer, the late fashion engineer had vitality for fabric innovation and functional shapes. The pioneer behind cult brands Stone Island and C.P. Company was a creative fusion of his talent for dye treatments and design ideas he gained from studying the clothing silhouettes of the military, workwear and sports.

Today, his legacy has evolved into a contemporary sportswear label committed to continuing the creative's ingenious design prowess. The new venture rejects conventional seasonality, presenting its collections in monthly chapters. Each instalment delivers garments made from dynamic fabrics and introduces collaborations across different industries, allowing space for freedom of expression.

Aptly dedicated to orchestrating a collective creative platform whilst producing textile experimentation, the label serves as a standalone new project under the C.P. Company umbrella. Lorenzo Osti, son of Massimo, continues his father's work by maintaining a strong focus on fabric development. He expressed that the label serves as a sandbox for outerwear innovation, allowing for a thorough investigation and a fresh approach without feeling tied to nostalgic themes.

Since debuting at Paris Fashion Week earlier this year, the eponymous label has unveiled modern designs with a treasure of inspirational practices. Synthesising fashion with science, Massimo Osti Studio is revolutionising the qualities of a garment by introducing futuristic techniques like laser-cut styles bonded with heat-sensitive mesh tapes to hosting a new narrative for the jacquard technique based on an industrial process derived from airbag manufacturing and 3D detailing.
