A graduate of Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo, the acclaimed Japanese fashion designer originally studied under Comme des Garcons designer, Rei Kawakubo. Like his mentor, Watanabe is renowned for his innovative and distinct technical style, in which he experiments with cutting-edge fabrics, original tailoring and complex draping.
