Whether you’re soaking in the sun, enjoying a peaceful moment or getting things done around the house, this mix will set the perfect vibe.

Could you introduce us to you and your world?  Tarzsa: My name is Tarzsa. I’m a Manchester-born DJ and NTS resident. I play music and soundtrack cultural projects, it’s the only thing I’ve ever felt truly good at. A Tarzsa set will always be rooted in R&B, Jazz and House music. I’m never afraid to throw in a few surprises, especially during the festival season.

Representing Manchester, how has your hometown influenced your music?  Tarzsa: I was very fortunate to be born in a city where music is a very big focus. Manchester has the most amazing venues, club spaces and people. I feel this changed my brain chemistry for the better as a teenager. Northerners have so much passion and energy, it’s really beautiful actually. I’m always looking to translate that into my sets wherever I play.

You have an innate ability to spread uplifting vibes through your mixes, both live and on air. How do you put together your sets to keep that positive energy flowing?  Tarzsa: Thank you! I’m someone who needs to completely isolate when putting music together for sets. It can be really annoying. I try to prep every set with a goal in mind of how I want people to feel during the set and after. I think being attuned to the audience is a good way to keep the sets flowing, notice what moves them and allow yourself to be in the moment.

What’s more important, the track you start on or the track you end on?  Tarzsa: For me personally, I feel the opening track is important. Starting strong really helps me ease into the set. Also, I think it’s a good way for people to realise instantly they are in safe hands.

Dead or alive, who would you love to work with?   Tarzsa: George Michael, Blood Orange, BADBADNOTGOOD, Yazmin Lacey and Rhythm Section.

You’ve performed at major festivals like Gala, The Warehouse Project, We Out Here and Parklife. What’s been your most memorable experience?  Tarzsa: My most memorable experience was my The Warehouse Project: Repercussion 2022 (Boiler Room debut) in the Star and Garter pub. The space was dripping with sweat, filled to the brim with Mancunians just wanting to go mental and dance the night away. I think this made me feel really safe and confident in my ability to show everyone a good time. I’ll never forget that night.

The music industry is famously cutthroat; how do you navigate it without it affecting your creativity and mindset?   Tarzsa: My advice would be to always remember that there’s so much space for everyone. There’s some really great people who will inspire you, and great friendships to make along the way. You have to live in order to create things that are true to you, it’s not always going to feel super comfortable.

What can you tell us about your Store Mix for LN-CC?  Tarzsa: My Store Mix for LN-CC is very summery and seductive. I have selected a range of tracks that have a restorative feel to them, with lots of percussive instrumentals throughout.

Beyond shopping at LN-CC, what would you like listeners to be doing when they press play?  Tarzsa: I would really like this mix to be experienced when you’re doing something that brings you peace. Getting some fresh air, eating fruit or cleaning the kitchen worktops. Do as you wish!

What’s next on the horizon for Tarzsa?  Tarzsa: I have a new monthly Saturday slot on NTS Radio (Channel 1) which I’m super pleased with! Starting Saturday 27th July 2-3pm. I would also like to dive headfirst into remixing and soundtracking for fashion/film over the next few years.
