Zsou is the work of Mo Morris and Merrick Adams, previously of acclaimed outfit A Mountain of One. Following big in Japan single “Written in Dust / Wild Honey”, Phil Manzanera remix and their Lucky Hole collaboration with Velvet Season & The Hearts Of Gold / Velvet Season & The Hearts Of Gold, the pair now deliver some cosmic goodness for Island Of The Gods.
Island Of The Gods is a new label based in Bali and its surrounding islands. The label is the creative outlet of Dan Mitchell, the original co founder of LN-CC and LN-CC Recordings. Mitchell left LN-CC in early 2014 and set sail from English shores and headed south east to the indigenous islands and lands of Indonesia, recording what he calls “The last of the old world musicians.” Recording Gamelan, Gong and vocal sessions both in Bali and Java. It was in the jungles of north Java that he met Zsou while they were recording the vocals of spiritual Javanese Sinden singer Endah Laras for the 'Admiral Byrd' single. On hearing the track Mitchell knew it had to be his debut Island Of The Gods release.
